Job summary

Hai Hospitality Group is seeking a Service Assistant/Server to support front-of-house operations in a fast-paced dining environment in Austin. You will run food, reset tables, and assist bartenders, ensuring guests receive prompt, friendly service.

Training is provided and opportunities exist to advance to bartender roles with higher wages. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and a polished appearance, with benefits including insurance options, EAP, a 401k plan, and dining discounts.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate with guests and staff.
• Lift and carry trays and items up to 50 lbs; stand and walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Acquaint yourself with the menu, specials, and cuisine.
• Be on the floor actively, running side work and supporting service.
• Assist bartenders and deliver food with clear explanations to guests.
• Deliver curbside orders and assist with EXPO and reset tables.
• Bus and reset tables; polish glassware and stock supplies.
• Support beverage training and guest experience initiatives.
• Maintain a neat workspace and proper storage of supplies.
• Communicate directives from leadership clearly and professionally.

Hai Hospitality and LORO, Asian Smokehouse + Bar, is accepting applications for Server Assistant / Server.

The position of Service Assistant is the backbone of the Front of House. The goal is to help maintain a high level of service by keeping a keen eye on the dining room, expo line, and bar, SAs are responsible for being the primary food runners, as well as cleaning and resetting tables. Fully trained Server Assistants will have the opportunity to move into a Bartender position, which results in an increase in responsibility and expected wages!

What you’ll do in this role:

• Acquaint yourself with our menu, current specials, and cuisine.
• We'll provide all the info you need to succeed!
• Learn about beer, wine, and cocktails through peer-led beverage training
• Be present and active on the floor, assisting with running side work
• Bus and reset tables, polish glassware, stock supplies
• Assist Bartenders with all aspects of service to enhance the guest experience
• Deliver food to our guests and explain each dish
• Receive, organize, and deliver curbside orders to guests waiting outside

Basic Qualifications

• Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and other employees Detect and identify safety issues, and comply with safety guidelines and standards
• Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods up to 50 lbs, stock inventory, and perform restocking duties
• Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods Bend, stoop, and reach to access various areas and items
