Responsibilities

• Guest Service: Assist servers in delivering food and beverages to guests, refill water, bread, and other items, respond to guest requests, and maintain a friendly attitude.
• Dining Room Setup & Maintenance: Set and reset tables, clear and clean, polish silverware and glassware, keep dining areas clean and presentable.
• Food Running: Deliver food from kitchen to guests, verify presentation, communicate with kitchen staff on special requests.
• Operational Support: Assist with opening/closing side work, stock service stations, transport dishes, support banquet setups.
• Teamwork & Safety: Work with staff to provide guest experiences, follow health and safety standards, assist training new team members.

Overview

A Server Assistant (Busser/Food Runner) supports the service team by ensuring guests receive prompt, attentive, and efficient service.

Key responsibilities typically include

Guest Service

• Assist servers in delivering food and beverages to guests.
• Refill water, bread, and other complimentary items.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate needs to servers or managers.
• Maintain a friendly, professional, and positive attitude.

Dining Room Setup & Maintenance

• Set and reset tables according to club or restaurant standards.
• Clear and clean tables efficiently between courses and after guests depart.
• Polish silverware, glassware, and service equipment.
• Ensure dining areas remain clean, organized, and presentable throughout service.

Food Running

• Deliver food accurately and promptly from the kitchen to guests.
• Verify plate presentation and ensure correct orders are served.
• Communicate with kitchen staff regarding special requests and dietary restrictions.

Operational Support

• Assist with opening and closing side work duties.
• Stock service stations with necessary supplies.
• Transport dishes, glassware, and utensils to designated cleaning areas.
• Support banquet and special event setups as required.

Teamwork & Safety

• Work closely with servers, bartenders, and culinary staff to provide exceptional guest experiences.
• Follow all health, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Maintain knowledge of club policies and service procedures.
• Assist in training new team members when requested.
