About the Role

The Server Assistant plays a crucial support role to the food service staff, responsible for clearing tables, removing used dishes, refilling water glasses and resetting tables for new guests. The role is essential in maintaining a smooth and efficient dining experience, supporting the waitstaff, and keeping the dining area clean and orderly. Good customer service skills are required as the Assistant will interact with guests in the dining areas.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on all service details for Food Servers and Supervisors.
• Maintain work areas clean and organized.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
• Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
• Set and clear tables according to standards.
• Stock areas with linen, glassware and silver.
• Assist Servers in servicing the guest.
• Complete all opening and closing side work, as assigned – including stocking plates, silverware, filling coffee grinder, filling wine buckets, cleaning floor, wiping down booths and chairs, moving tables and chairs, pushing dirty linen to storage area, putting away china, setting out and lighting candles.
• Stock bus station, as assigned.
• Attend required meetings.
• Communicate with manager before leaving shift.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor, including cross‑training.
• Seat guests.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills: able to speak English and interact with customers and co‑workers.
• Previous restaurant experience in a similar role preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Physically able to lift equipment, trays with food, and move tables and chairs.
