Job summary

Temecula Creek Inn is seeking a busperson to support service staff and maintain the restaurant’s flow and appearance. You will work with servers to set up dining areas, clear and reset tables, and provide guests with water, breads, and appetizers while ensuring prompt, professional service.

The role requires at least one year of busperson experience in a dinner house, with hotel restaurant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write, and speak basic English well enough to understand directions and guest requests.
• Must have at least one year experience as busperson in a dinner house. Hotel restaurant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand and respond to all guest needs in a timely and professional manner.
• Work with server to set up dining room and clear/reset tables between courses and after meals.
• Provide guests with water, butter, and appetizers; serve all food and beverages as requested by server.
• Handle credit card and gift card transactions following procedures.
• Ensure adequate supply of linens, silverware, and accessories for service.
• Understand menu items and wine list to assist guests as needed.
• Perform opening/closing duties and other tasks as directed.

Description

Essential Purpose: To provide support to the service staff to maintain proper flow of guest service and optimal appearance of the restaurant.

Essential Duties

• To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
• To work as a team with server in performing routine support services in the restaurant, including setting up dining room; clearing and resetting tables between courses and after meals; providing guests with water, butter, and appetizers; and serving all food and beverages, as requested by the server.
• To provide prompt, efficient, and gracious customer service to IRD guests, including taking and properly delivering food and beverage orders; and opening, closing, and presenting guest checks.
• To follow all specified procedures to correctly handle all credit card, and gift card transactions.
• To ensure an adequate supply of clean, presentable linens, silverware, and all other accessories are prepared for the meal service and available at the bus station.
• To understand all menu items and wine list to assist guests, as needed.
• To satisfactorily perform all opening/closing duties, as directed.
• To follow all policies and procedures of the food and beverage department and Temecula Creek Inn
• To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
• To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
• To practice safe work habits at all times, to avoid injury to self and others.
• To comply with company and departmental safety rules and regulations, including the proper handling of all relevant equipment.
• To attend all mandatory meetings, as directed.
• To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.

Requirements

Knowledge + Education

Physical Demands

Bends, stoops, reaches, and pushes to perform routine tasks. Frequent use of stairs, daily. Must be able to work under pressure.
