Job summary

Hotel Paseo, Autograph Collection in Palm Desert is seeking a Server Assistant to support the delivery and service of food and beverage to guests in our boutique luxury setting. You will work closely with the culinary team to understand the menu, wine list, and service standards.

This role offers varied shifts with opportunities to grow within Marcus Hotels & Resorts, plus benefits after probation and guest-perk discounts.

Qualifications

• Prior hospitality or customer service experience is preferred
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
• Must be proficient in multi-tasking, have the ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout shifts, and have the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to understand verbal and written English to comprehend basic guest requests and caution/safety notices
• Ability to grasp, lift, carry, and/or transport up to 50 lbs. through a crowded room

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly understand the menu, wine list, ingredients, preparation, and expected service
• Deliver all required Service Accents to the guest (e.g., SSA presentation, bread presentation, horseradish/cheese grating, and dessert presentation)
• Maintain a neat, clean, organized, safe work environment
• Transport and polish clean dishware, utensils, and accessories as needed
• Comply with opening and closing procedures as well as complete side work.
• Communicate with the culinary and management team throughout duration of shift
• Address and resolve customer complaints
• Clean and reset dining room tables and booths during and after meal
• Perform other duties as assigned
