Job summary

Kirkwood in Houston seeks motivated Server Assistants to thrive in a fast-paced, upscale dining setting. You will support servers, maintain dining areas, and contribute to a welcoming guest experience.

Ideal candidates have previous server assistant or busser experience, strong teamwork, and are bilingual in English and Spanish. Must hold Food Handler and State Alcohol Server Certificates. Evening, weekend shifts and some holidays required. Competitive benefits for FT employees.

Responsibilities

• Clear and reset tables promptly to service standards.
• Assist servers by delivering water, bread, condiments, and other items.
• Ensure efficient and professional table turnover.
• Maintain cleanliness of service stations and dining areas.
• Polish silverware and glassware; restock side stations as needed.
• Communicate clearly with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff.
• Provide guests with a warm, friendly presence.

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience as Server Assistant or Busser, preferably in upscale or fine dining.


• Excellent teamwork and communication skills


• Preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish


• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively


• Must be able to work nights, weekends and some holidays.


• Flexible schedule helpful.

What you'll do:

• Promptly clear and reset tables in accordance with the restaurant's service standards.


• Assist servers by delivering water, bread, condiments, and other items as needed.


• Support the pacing of the dining room by ensuring tables are turned efficiently and professionally.


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, dining areas, and restrooms throughout the shift.


• Polish silverware, glassware, and restack side stations as needed.


• Communicate clearly and respectfully with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.


• Provide guests with a warm, friendly presence when interacting or assisting.


• Handle glassware and dishware with care to avoid breakage or disruption to the dining experience.


• Adhere to all sanitation, safety, and hygiene standards.


• Assist with floor setups, closing duties, and occasional food running as directed.


• Support team members and contribute to a positive, respectful workplace culture.


• Attend mandatory meetings and complete company-assigned training.


• Maintain uniform standards and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.


• Adhere to a reliable work schedule and perform duties safely.

Perform other tasks, including cross-training in different areas, as assigned by management.
