Job summary

Vandelay Hospitality Group in Dallas is seeking a Server Apprentice to support our service team and ensure guests receive exceptional, hospitable service. You will help maintain cleanliness, assist with table settings, and learn food and beverage service in a fast-paced environment.

This role offers paid training, dining discounts, and opportunities for professional development within Vandelay concepts. You will join a team that values punctuality, teamwork, and a positive attitude toward guests

Qualifications

• Detail oriented with strong communication skills.
• Team oriented with a strong sense of punctuality and reliability.
• Able to navigate a fast-paced environment while remaining positive and professional.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and handle plates, water cases, chairs, linen, and tables.
• State required serving age; TABC Certification where required.
• Certified for food and alcohol service as required by state and local agencies.
• Family Meals.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the restaurant and service areas.
• Assist servers, bartenders and hosts when needed and understands menu items.
• Run food from the kitchen to guest tables after ensuring each course is complete.
• Run beverages from the bar to guest tables and keep beverages full.
• Remove used dishes and silverware between courses and after guests leave.
• Communicate with team to ensure efficient seating, table utilization and service.
• Maintain cleanliness of tables and chairs in the service area and reset vacated tables.
• Perform general cleaning tasks to meet health and safety standards.
• Perform other duties as required.

A Server Apprentice at Vandelay Hospitality Group is responsible for assisting our service staff with providing exceptional service to our guests. The Server Apprentice is expected to perform in a hospitable manner and play an integral role in supporting and maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant while also anticipating the guests’ needs. Our goal is to make everyone feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed, while exceeding expectations of all.

• Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the restaurant and service areas.
• Assist servers, bartenders and hosts when needed and understands food descriptions and ingredients of menu items.
• Run food from the kitchen to guest tables after ensuring each course is complete and accurate
• Run beverages from the bar to guest tables and ensure beverages are always full
• Remove used dishes and silverware from guest tables between courses and after guests leave the table.
• Communicate with server, bartenders and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and guest service.
• Maintain cleanliness of all tables and chairs in assigned service area and resets vacated tables.
• Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

• Certified for food and alcohol service as is required by State and Local Agencies
