Job summary

Alder & Ash in Seattle is seeking an experienced server to deliver exceptional dining experiences. You will take orders, serve food and beverages, and maintain a friendly, efficient service flow in a bustling Central Business District setting.

You will need weekend/evening availability, knowledge of POS, and a customer-centric approach. The role emphasizes teamwork with kitchen and staff, adherence to safety guidelines, and flexibility during peak times.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional dining experiences by following the company’s standard of service.
  • Take and relay orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the menu, specials, and beverage offerings.
  • Input orders into the POS system and ensure timely delivery to tables.
  • Set and clear tables according to restaurant standards.
  • Monitor dining area for cleanliness and appearance.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure order accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow servers and support staff.
  • Promote specials and suggest upgrades.
  • Assist during peak times as needed and adhere to policies and safety guidelines.

****Located in the heart of the Central Business District across from the Seattle Convention Center Arch, Alder & Ash is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a late night cocktail.

Open seven days a week, the restaurant and lounge features New American cuisine and craft cocktails that celebrate Pacific Northwest products and producers

Summary:

The Server is responsible for delivering exceptional service and ensuring a positive dining experience for guests. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a friendly and efficient service flow.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure an exceptional dining experience by following the Company's standard of service.
  • Take and relay orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the menu, including specials and beverage offerings.
  • Offer recommendations and answer any questions regarding specific menu items.
  • Input orders accurately into the POS system and ensure timely delivery of orders to the guest's table.
  • Set and clear tables in accordance with restaurant standards.
  • Monitor dining area for cleanliness and appearance.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure order accuracy and efficient delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow servers and support staff.
  • Promote specials and suggest upgrades to enhance the dining experience.
  • Work cohesively with kitchen staff, management, and fellow staff members and assist during peaks times as needed,
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
  • Adhere to alcohol service regulations and age verification.
  • Address guest concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
Must Haves:
  • Must be have Saturday through Monday evening availability, flexible schedule
  • Previous experience as a server in a restaurant setting.
  • Knowledge of POS
  • Knowledge of basic food safety and health regulations
  • Customer-centric
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a high demand and faced paced work environment.
Washington/Seattle Benefits Summary:
  • Eligible to participate in company subsidized medical/dental/vision/life insurance within 30 days following new hire status if full time 30+ hours per week
  • Eligibility to participate in employee funded supplemental benefit programs, i.e., disability, within 30 days following new hire status if full time 30+ hours per week
  • Eligible to participate in 401(k) plan after six months of service and 1000 hours worked. The company will match 50% of employee contribution up to 4% of the employee's annual pay.
