Job summary

ThriveMore is seeking a Server responsible for providing guests with dining service that meets high community standards. You will take orders, serve, and assist with menu knowledge under supervision of the Dining/Executive Chef and Service Manager.

Open availability (12pm-8pm) and full-time status are required. Prior serving experience and excellent communication are preferred, with a focus on hospitality and teamwork in a fast-paced dining environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent oral communication skills required.
  • Positive interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Greets residents and guests and presents them with the menu.
  • Informs guests about the daily specials and menu changes.
  • Take food and beverage orders from residents/guests and enter into the POS system.
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
  • Fill in for absent staff as needed.
  • Enter special requirements on orders (e.g., no garlic, less spicy).
  • Coordinate with bus staff and kitchen to ensure smooth operation.
  • Serve food and beverages as ordered and monitor guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain dining experience by replenishing utensils and ensuring guest needs are met.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
  • Assist in stocking and side station maintenance.
  • Answer phones and assist with Take-Out transactions.
  • Close the shift on the POS terminal.
  • Other duties as assigned.

TITLE: ServerRESPONSIBLE TO: Exec. Chef /Sous Chef and/or Dining Room Manager
JOB OBJECTIVE:

Ensure that all guests are served to community standards in the dining areas. Highest standards of hospitality and welcome are demonstrated and displayed at all times within all dining service areas. Takes orders for, serves (where applicable, prepares) food and beverages to all residents and guests as per the standards in a friendly, timely and efficient manner under the direct supervision of the Service Manager and/or Sous Chef and/or Director of Dining/Executive Chef.

  • OPEN AVAILABILITY IS A MUST

    • 12pm-8pm, NOT A SET Schedule

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Greets residents and guests and presents them with the menu.
  • Informs guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if any.
  • Take food and beverage orders from the resident/guest on the order taking pads or on the handheld Point of sale (POS) system.
  • Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
  • Filling in for absent staff as needed.
  • Punch the order on the POS machine and make sure to enter the special requirements made by the resident/guest while ordering the food; (example – no garlic, less spicy, without egg, etc.)
  • Communicate to the guest and provide assistance with their queries.
  • Coordinate with the bus person and/or kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and resident/guest satisfaction.
  • Serve food and beverage to the guest as per the course of order.
  • Observes residents/guests and ensure their satisfaction with the food and service.
  • Promptly respond to resident/guest with any additional request
  • Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
  • Must have some familiarity with basic cooking skills; (example – salad preparation, dessert plating, etc.)
  • Assist bus persons with stocking and maintain the restaurant par stock levels and side station.
  • Help other areas of the restaurant such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions for Take-Out.
  • Close the shift on the POS terminal.
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor or manager including but not limited to this list.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous serving experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral communication skills required.
  • Positive interpersonal skills required.
