Job summary

The Knoxville Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Server position at our dining facility in Walland, TN. You will present, carry, and run food according to restaurant standards and describe menu items to guests.

Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is required. Starting pay ranges from $17.00 to $27.00 per hour, determined by experience, skills, and other factors. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with prior Food & Beverage service experience a plus.

The purpose of the Server position is to present, carry, and run food, as well as clear plates by restaurant standards. Verbally provides an accurate description of various menu items and courses to Guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clears plates from tables
• Prepares and serves coffee and tea as needed

Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this position.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers, and interact with our guests.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in a Food & Beverage Service preferred
• Experience related to dealing with the general public preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Must have excellent verbal communication skills
• Must be able to communicate with guests, team members, and managers effectively

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Basic knowledge and understanding of math

REASONING ABILITY

• Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand on feet for an extended period
• Must be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Restaurant, Dining Room, Bar, Wait Staff and Kitchen areas and other areas on property as necessary
• May occasionally be asked to go outside in all weather conditions
