Job summary

The Washington House is seeking experienced servers to join our team. We pride ourselves on caring, knowledgeable hospitality and excellent food in a high-energy, positive work environment.

You will engage with guests to ensure they feel welcome, know the menu, and enjoy a smooth dining experience. Responsibilities include taking orders, entering them into the POS system accurately, and coordinating with multiple teams to maintain a positive atmosphere and efficient service.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work varied hours/days.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy plates, boxes and tables/chairs when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Engage with each customer to make them feel welcome and comfortable.
• Be knowledgeable of all food and beverage menus and events.
• Set up properly to ensure efficiency when busy.
• Take beverage and food orders and enter into POS accurately.
• Follow restaurant protocols for Washington House service.
• Look for positive solutions to difficult situations.
• Prepare checks and process payments from guests.
• Maintain clean dining room and kitchen areas for each shift.
• Work cooperatively with front of house, back of house, hotel and theater staff.

Server responsibilities:

• Engage with each customer to make them feel welcome and comfortable.
• Be knowledgeable of all food and beverage menus and special events
• Set up properly to ensure maximum efficiency when busy
• Take beverage and food orders and enter into POS accurately
• Follow all restaurant protocols for "Washington House" service
• Look for positive solutions to inevitable difficult situations
• Prepare checks and collect payment from guests
• Clean and sanitize appropriate areas in dining room and kitchen to make sure each shift starts with a clean work space
• Work cooperatively with all front of house, back of house, hotel and theater staff to maintain a positive work environment at all times
