The Washington House is hiring experienced bartender/servers to join our team. We pride ourselves on caring, knowledgeable hospitality and excellent food in a high-energy, positive work environment.

We seek hospitality professionals who genuinely enjoy making people happy and contributing to a hardworking team. Candidates should have experience in fast-paced customer service, be willing to mix bartending, serving and private party shifts, and be available for varied hours.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills are required.
• Ability to multitask effectively during busy shifts.

Responsibilities

• Engage with each customer to make them feel welcome and comfortable.
• Be knowledgeable of all food and beverage menus and events.
• Set up to maximize efficiency during busy periods.
• Take beverage and food orders and enter into POS accurately.
• Create drinks following house recipes and measures.
• Follow all restaurant protocols for Washington House service.
• Find positive solutions to challenging situations.
• Prepare checks and collect payments from guests.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked work area for each shift.
• Collaborate with front of house, back of house, hotel and theater staff to sustain a positive environment.

Responsibilities:

• Set up properly to ensure maximum efficiency when busy
• Take beverage and food orders and enter into POS accurately
• Create drinks following house recipes and measures
• Follow all restaurant protocols for "Washington House" service
• Look for positive solutions to inevitable difficult situations
• Prepare checks and collect payment from guests
• Clean and sanitize appropriate areas in dining room and bar area to make sure each shift starts with a clean work space
• Work cooperatively with all front of house, back of house, hotel and theater staff to maintain a positive work environment at all times

Requirements:

• Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast paced environment
• Willing & able to a mixture of bartending, serving and private party shifts
• Availability to work varied hours/days
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to lift and carry heavy plates, boxes and dining room tables and chairs when necessary
• Experience with building drinks, tending bar, maintaining a clean, well stocked, and efficient work area

All of our employees work weekdays and weekends, and a combination of lunch and dinner shifts.
