Job summary

Yora Nordic Spa is seeking a full-time Bistro Server to join its founding food-and-beverage team before opening in November 2026. This role will enhance the guest experience through genuine service, warm welcomes, and strong menu knowledge.

The Opportunity

The Bistro Server will be part of Yora's founding food-and-beverage team, helping create the warm, relaxed and thoughtful dining experience that will welcome Yora Nordic Spa's first guests in November 2026. This full-time role is anticipated to start at the end of October 2026.

At Yora, dining is part of the wellness journey - a place where nourishment and social connection come together. Through genuine conversation, accurate service and thoughtful recommendations, the Bistro Server helps guests feel comfortable, cared for and able to enjoy their time together. Servers may work across more than one outlet or service area as operational needs require.

This is a tipped position with a base wage of $9.00–$10.00 per hour, plus tips. Total wages and tips will meet or exceed the applicable Connecticut minimum wage.

What You Will Do

• Welcome guests warmly and create a dining experience that feels relaxed, social and unhurried.
• Develop strong knowledge of food, beverages, dietary considerations, features and promotions.
• Guide guests through the menu and make thoughtful recommendations based on their preferences.
• Accurately take orders and enter them into the POS system.
• Deliver food and beverages accurately and within established service expectations.
• Process cash and electronic payments accurately and follow established transaction procedures.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly throughout the dining experience.
• Respond professionally to guest feedback and involve a Supervisor when additional support is required.
• Maintain clean, organized and guest-ready tables, sections and service stations.
• Follow food-safety, responsible-alcohol-service and dietary and allergen procedures.
• Maintain appropriate service pacing during high-volume periods without making guests feel rushed.
• Communicate clearly with the Kitchen, Bartenders, fellow Servers and other food-and-beverage team members.
• Complete assigned opening, closing and side-work responsibilities accurately and on time.
• Work across assigned outlets or service areas, support teammates and participate fully in required training.

What You Bring

• Previous serving, restaurant or guest-service experience is an asset but not required.

• The ability to learn and confidently discuss food, beverage and product offerings.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to order, payment and service accuracy.
• The ability to remain calm, organized and welcoming in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort using POS and payment systems following training.
• Appropriate food-safety and responsible-alcohol-service certifications, or the willingness to obtain them within the required timeframe.
• A flexible, collaborative approach and willingness to work in more than one outlet or service area when needed.

Schedule

This is a full-time, on-site position with shifts scheduled based on business and operational needs. The role requires flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. Bistro Servers may be scheduled or assigned to work in more than one food-and-beverage outlet or service area based on guest volumes, staffing requirements and operational priorities.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

This is a physically active, highly guest-facing position performed in fast-paced food-and-beverage environments. The role involves extended periods of standing and walking; frequent bending, reaching and twisting; repetitive hand and arm movements; moving between assigned outlets and service areas; and lifting, carrying, balancing, pushing and pulling routine trays, dishes, glassware, food and beverage items, service supplies and equipment. Employees work around hot and cold food and beverages, food allergens, glassware, kitchen and service equipment, cleaning products and chemicals, noise, crowded service areas, changing temperatures and occasional spills or wet and slippery surfaces. Appropriate food-safety, responsible-alcohol-service, equipment-safety and chemical-handling procedures must be followed. The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
