Server – Hillcrest Firethorn

Location: Lincoln, NE

Service Line: Hillcrest Firethorn

Shift: 2:30pm - 8:00pm with weekend availability - Full or Part-time

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a friendly, dependable, and service-focused Server to join our culinary team at Hillcrest Firethorn in Lincoln, NE.

As a Server, you will help create a positive dining experience by taking orders, serving meals and beverages, supporting dietary needs, and keeping dining areas clean, organized, and ready for service.

What You’ll Do

As a Server, you will work closely with residents, patients, guests, and the culinary team to provide attentive meal service and help keep dining operations running smoothly.

You will:

  • Greet residents, patients, and guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Take meal orders using the appropriate ordering device or tableside process.
  • Ensure meal selections align with prescribed diets and texture requirements.
  • Become familiar with the menu so you can answer questions and assist with meal selections.
  • Serve meals and beverages accurately and efficiently.
  • Help create a positive and comfortable dining experience.
  • Set up dining areas before service and reset tables afterward.
  • Maintain clean and organized dining-room and kitchen areas.
  • Assist with washing dishes, silverware, glasses, pots, pans, and other food-service equipment.
  • Maintain appropriate dining-room supply levels.
  • Complete required food-temperature logs before and after meal service.
  • Properly date, rotate, and store food items used for service.
  • Follow established food-safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
  • Properly store and use cleaning chemicals according to safety requirements.
  • Assist with additional culinary duties as needed.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience waiting tables or providing dining-room service preferred.

Physical & Other Requirements
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and movement throughout the shift.
  • Must be flexible and calm when supporting residents, patients, guests, and families.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced dining environment.
  • Must be able to utilize technology and available resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Must follow established sanitation, infection-control, chemical-handling, and food-safety procedures.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
  • Other duties as assigned.
