Job summary

Hillcrest Health & Living is seeking an experienced Chef for Hillcrest Grand Lodge in Papillion, NE. You will prepare and serve meals across multiple dining venues, follow established recipes, maintain a clean and safe kitchen, and ensure timely, high-quality service for residents.

We value strong line-cooking skills, food safety knowledge, organization, and teamwork. Two years of hotel or restaurant line-cooking experience is preferred, and experience in senior living is a plus.

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for an experienced, dependable, and service-focused Chef to join our culinary team at Hillcrest Grand Lodge in Papillion, NE.

What You’ll Do

As a Chef, you will prepare and serve meals across multiple dining venues while maintaining strong standards for food quality, presentation, sanitation, and timely service.

You will:

  • Prepare hot and cold food items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Plate food according to presentation, portion, and plating standards.
  • Complete daily food-production lists.
  • Set up hot and cold lines for meal service.
  • Prepare food for multiple dining venues throughout Hillcrest Grand Lodge.
  • Support meal preparation for the Bistro, Nottingham’s, Keswick’s, and Memory Support households.
  • Ensure food is served accurately and on time across all dining venues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow established infection-control and sanitation standards.
  • Put away food deliveries and ensure products are stored appropriately.
  • Complete deep cleaning of kitchen equipment as required.
  • Prepare and coordinate deli tray deliveries.
  • Follow required food-safety, sanitation, and culinary training standards.
  • Work collaboratively with culinary team members to keep meal service running smoothly.
  • Respond to resident and customer needs in a timely, positive, and professional manner.
  • Assist with additional culinary responsibilities as assigned.

The role combines food preparation, plating, production planning, sanitation, multiple dining venues, and timely meal service throughout Hillcrest Grand Lodge.

  • Previous hotel, restaurant, senior living, healthcare, or high-volume culinary experience.
  • Strong line-cooking skills.
  • Experience preparing both hot and cold food items.
  • Strong knowledge of food-safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and plating guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail with food quality and presentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple food-production priorities.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Dependability and consistent follow-through.
  • Ability to remain calm and flexible during busy meal periods.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative culinary team.
  • A service-focused approach and genuine interest in creating a positive dining experience for aging adults.
  • Willingness to complete required sanitation and professional-development training.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least two years of hotel or restaurant line-cooking experience preferred.
