Job summary

Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna is seeking a dependable Chef to join our dining team. You will prepare hot and cold items, plate meals, and set up lines for multiple venues, ensuring quality and on-time service in a fast-paced kitchen.

Ideal candidates have line-cooking experience in hotel/restaurant settings, strong food-safety knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with a culinary team. A high school diploma is preferred; this is a full-time position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• At least two years of hotel or restaurant line-cooking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold food items according to recipes and standards.
• Plate meals to presentation, portion, and plating expectations.
• Set up hot and cold lines for meal service.
• Prepare food for multiple dining venues in the community.
• Complete daily food-production lists.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
• Follow sanitation and infection-control standards.
• Assist with receiving and properly storing food deliveries.
• Complete deep cleaning of kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Support deli tray preparation and delivery as needed.

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a dependable, talented, and service-focused Chef to join our culinary team at Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna.

As a Chef, you will prepare high-quality hot and cold food while helping create a dining experience residents can genuinely look forward to. You will work across multiple dining venues, ensuring meals are prepared accurately, presented well, served on time, and produced in a clean and safe kitchen environment.

What You’ll Do

As a Chef, you will be responsible for food preparation and production while supporting smooth culinary operations throughout Hillcrest Highlands of Gretna.

You will:

• Strong organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities during busy meal periods.
• Knowledge of food-safety and sanitation practices.
• A dependable and team-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently while remaining part of a collaborative culinary team.
• Flexibility and a willingness to assist wherever needed.

Education & Experience
