Job Description

Assist in preparing the restaurant for dining service by setting up section, including preparing items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.

• Greet all guests in a warm, personal, friendly manner.
• Review menus with guests and answer any questions about menu items, offering descriptions and making recommendations.
• Inform guests of any daily specials including pricing, if not listed on the menu.
• Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
• Take guests' food and beverage orders and enter orders into computer for transmittal to kitchen staff.
• Check guests' identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcohol.
• Serve food and beverages to guests, taking extra care to perform any additional table-side preparation or service as required for items served.
• Describe and recommend wines to guests; bring selection to the table with appropriate glasses and pour the wine for the guests.
• Check with the guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
• Remove dishes and glasses from tables, and take them to the kitchen for cleaning.
• Prepare the table for the next guest.
• Prepare certain hot and cold non-alcoholic beverages for guests.
• Prepare and present guests' checks, ensuring any special requests are followed (such as split checks), and collect corresponding payments.
• Assist the entire service team throughout the meal period to ensure all guest's expectations are exceeded.
• Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, iced tea, tableware, share plates, silverware, and linens.
• Must be dependable, report to work as scheduled and on time, and follow all policies regarding scheduling and attendance.
