Job summary

The Waterfront Group is seeking an experienced Server to provide attentive, courteous table service in our upscale dining room.

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you will greet guests, take orders, coordinate with kitchen and bar staff, and ensure accurate billing while maintaining a pristine dining area.

Candidates should have at least 3 years in fine dining, knowledge of wine and beverage pairings, and the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an upscale or fine dining environment is required
• Demonstrated knowledge of wine, spirits, and beverage pairings is preferred
• Proven track record of excellent timekeeping, attendance, and reliability
• TIPs certified or willing to undergo TIPs and/or food sanitation and allergy training as required
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to remain on your feet for extended periods
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Responsibilities

• Prepare tables and dining areas for daily service, ensuring they are clean, organized, and properly set
• Greet guests warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming and engaging dining experience
• Take and manage reservations in person, by phone, or online as required
• Demonstrate thorough menu knowledge and confidently recommend food and beverage selections and pairings
• Accurately take guest orders and input them into the point-of-sale system, ensuring any special requests or dietary restrictions are noted
• Serve food and beverages promptly, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
• Provide attentive, courteous service throughout the dining experience, anticipating and responding to guest needs
• Process customer checks and payments accurately, promptly, and in accordance with company procedures
• Bus and reset tables efficiently to maintain smooth service flow
• Collaborate closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service
• Assist with setup, execution and breakdown of boardrooms, events and catering
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room and service stations in compliance with health and safety standards
• Perform other duties within the scope of the role as assigned by the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor
