Job summary

Southall Farm and Inn, a premier destination, seeks an experienced Server to lead guest experiences across our signature outlets including Sojourner, Dottie's and the Michelin Green Star restaurant, January.

Responsibilities include delivering five-star service, coordinating with kitchen and bar, mentoring staff, and upholding elevated front- and back-of-house standards daily. Competitive compensation and growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Restaurant hospitality experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide immersive, well-curated dining experiences highlighting our seed-to-table operation.
• Communicate guest orders to kitchen and bar and coordinate timing of service.
• Anticipate guest needs and maintain guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
• Attend bar and wine service training.
• Process payments and close guest checks accurately.
• Maintain understanding of front- and back-of-house procedures.
• Coordinate with culinary team on daily/weekly changes.
• Mentor and train new staff; provide guidance and direction.
• Restock and clean as part of opening/closing duties.
• Memorize menu items, recipes and daily specials to advise guests.
• Attend pre-meal and departmental meetings to enhance product knowledge and service.
• Maintain a professional appearance and a friendly, courteous demeanor.
• Collaborate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure smooth operation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Southall Leadership.

About this position

Description: Southall is a premier destination bringing nature, produce and people together in a powerful and unique way.

The Server will be responsible for leading the guest experience while providing 5-star dining service in our signature outlets: Sojourner, Dottie's and / or our Michelin Green Star restaurant, January.

Responsibilities

• Provide an immersive well-curated dining experience to our guests by highlighting our seed to table operation
• Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the kitchen and bar using the hotel’s point-of-sales system, coordinate food and beverage timings
• Anticipate guest needs
• Attend bar and wine service training
• Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; room charges, properly settle voided checks or complimentary meals
• Maintain an active understanding of front of house and back of house procedures
• Coordinate with culinary team’s daily and weekly changes and requests
• Perform new staff mentoring, training, providing insight and direction
• Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work as instructed
• Memorize menu items, recipes, and daily specials in order to answer questions and make recommendations to customers
• Attend all pre-meal and departmental meetings in person in order to enhance communications and knowledge of products, service and facility
• Remain attentive to the customers throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards as established by the property at all times
• Present a clean and professional appearance at all times
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by Southall Leadership

Requirements

• Restaurant hospitality experience; fine dining service experience preferred
• Strong team leadership and organizational skills

• Must be able to push, pull and lift 50 lbs.
