Job summary

Generation Hospitality Group is seeking a Server in the Restaurant department in Billings, MT. This hourly, full-time role focuses on hospitality, accurate order taking, menu guidance, and delivering a memorable dining experience for guests.

You will guide guests through the menu, take orders, maintain a clean service area, and collaborate with hosts, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a server or in a customer-facing role preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, positive, and professional demeanor.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic math skills and comfort handling cash and operating a POS system.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and warmly, presenting menus and explaining daily specials or promotions.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the POS system in a timely manner.
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, including ingredients, preparation, and potential allergens.
• Serve food and beverages according to restaurant standards, ensuring correct orders and attractive presentation.
• Check back with guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address any issues or additional requests.
• Handle payment transactions, process cash and card payments, and issue receipts accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked dining area, including tables, service stations, and beverage stations.
• Collaborate closely with hosts, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures, including proper handling of food and beverages.
• Support opening and closing duties such as setting up sections, rolling silverware, and side work as assigned.
• Comply with restaurant policies, including responsible alcohol service and guest identification checks where applicable.
• Professionally address guest complaints or concerns and elevate to a manager when necessary.
