Job summary

Youth Life in Iowa is seeking a dedicated Food Service staff member to support culinary operations at our camp. The role emphasizes servant leadership, hospitality, and a deep commitment to the ministry's mission, while ensuring high standards in food service and guest experiences.

You will lead the Food Services team, coordinate menus and supply management, and train volunteers and staff to deliver meals with integrity and warmth consistent with Young Life's ministry values.

Qualifications

• Food service industry experience preferred.
• Experience in leading and training teams.
• Understanding of Young Life ministry, strategy and mission.
• Experience organizing and prioritizing tasks.
• Experience managing administrative aspects of a Food Service department.
• Professional written and verbal communication with guests, vendors and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual formation opportunities for staff and volunteers.
• Support hospitality by ensuring guest needs are anticipated and met.
• Direct and develop the Food Services team and menus.
• Maintain inventory control and food cost awareness.
• Lead and train volunteers, work crews and summer staff.
• Uphold Young Life ministry and camp service standards.
