Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0–6 months laboratory experience.

• Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Screen and accession specimens into the LIS and reconcile information.
• Notify/resolve issues with unacceptable samples and discrepancies.
• Process and log specimens, place on automated platforms per protocol.
• Register patients and place orders based on requisitions.
• Answer phones and provide courteous customer service to lab/medical staff.
• Arrange courier pickups and maintain organized workspace.
• Follow PPE and safety procedures; participate in training of new staff.
• Prepare specimens for referral to external labs and ensure proper labeling.
