Job summary

Antech Diagnostics is seeking a Serology Lab Aide in Mississippi to collect and prepare samples for testing, following SOPs, and maintaining equipment. The role requires attention to detail, reliable teamwork, and basic lab knowledge.

The target pay is 15.96 USD per hour, with shift 1am-9:30am Tuesday - Saturday, and occasional Sundays. Applicants should have a high school diploma and lab experience preferred; training and career development are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, 2- or 4-year degree in science-related field preferred.
• Prior lab experience preferred.
• Must have basic lab knowledge and the ability to follow SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Collect and build samples for testing.
• Centrifuge samples and prepare aliquots.
• Find missing specimens and reconcile queue list.
• Library and store samples properly.
• Maintain departmental equipment.
• Follow SOPs and safety/quality procedures.
• Assist in improving lab efficiency and quality.
• Consult with senior peers on non-complex serology tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose/Overview

TheSerology Lab Aideis responsible forthe collectionand preparation of samples to be tested.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collect and build samples to a load
• Centrifuge samples and make aliquots for sample testing asrequired.
• Find missing specimens.Print and reconcile queue list.
• Library all samples
• Maintain all departmental equipment
• Knowledge of lab equipment and procedures
• Awareness of quality control and calibration
• Crosstrainand develop knowledge of multiple specialties within department/lab.
• Follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), including safety and quality procedures. Maintains clean and organized work area. Restocks supplies as needed
• Participates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation.
• Consult with senior peers on non-complex Serology tasks to learn through experience
• Performs other duties as assigned

EducationandExperience

• High school diploma or equivalent required,2- or 4-yeardegree inscience-related field preferred.
• Prior lab experiencepreferred

Knowledge,Skills,and Abilities

• Laboratory skills, with experience setting up,running,and reading lab tests andoperatinglab instruments.
• General science background, including hematology/chemistry

Working Conditions

• Stationary Position- must be able toremainin a stationary position for up to 2 hours
• Constantlyoperatesa computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficiently
• Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch
• Required to lift, move, and carry up to 50lbs
• The ability toobservedetails at closerange
• Extended hours may beneeded
• Laboratoryenvironmentswith potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE
• Works under close to moderatePotential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards. A complete list of such chemicals is available from department supervision.
