Job summary

Antech Diagnostics in Orlando, FL is seeking a Serology Lab Technician to test blood and other specimens for viral and bacterial diseases by detecting antibodies or antigens. The role requires handling lab equipment, performing tests, and ensuring accurate results.

Schedule is 11:30pm–8:00am, Monday through Saturday with two days off weekly; weekend coverage required. Target pay is $17.84 per hour, with pay decisions based on skills, experience, and budget.

Qualifications

• Strong data entry and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run lab tests.

• Collect and prepare samples.
• Complete USDA Coggins forms as required by USDA.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ensure compliance with QA policies and calibration.

Job Purpose/Overview

The Serology Lab Technicianis responsible fortesting blood and other samples for viral and bacterial disease by detecting antibodies (AB) or antigens (AG).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Sets up andrunslab tests.

• Reads and releases testresults

• Collect and build samples to load.

• Responsible for completing the Coggins Federal forms as required by the USDA.

• The testperformed may be more routine and lesscomplex

• Exercises judgment in evaluating and reporting results

• Reconcile pending and queue lists daily

• Performs equipment maintenance and troubleshooting activities

• Knowledge of lab equipment and procedures

• Comply withall Quality Assurance policies andprotocols

• Awareness of quality control and calibration

• Consult with senior peers on non-complex tasks to learn through experience.

• Performs other duties as assigned

EducationandExperience

• High school diploma or equivalent required,2- or 4-yeardegree inscience-related field preferred.

• Prior lab experiencepreferred

• Laboratory skills, with experience setting up,running,and reading lab tests and operating lab instruments

• General science background

• Attention todetailand organized with ability to multi-task in afast-pacedenvironment

• Proficiencyin the English language which allows for participation in team meetings,accurateentry of data into company systems and understanding of written direction
