Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is seeking a Sergeant – Security for the Evening Shift. You will supervise security officers, coordinate deployment, and perform patrols and reports to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, NYS Security License, and 3 years of experience, plus BCLS and various security certifications. On-site work with rotating weekends and a strong focus on safety and incident documentation.

Sergeant – Security – Evening Shift

In this role, the Supervisor provides supervision of the security officers on a day-to-day basis. Apply to join a winning team where you will have an opportunity to engage in hands on experience coordinating the deployment of security personnel to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and staff. You will conduct building/property patrols, periodic inspections, and evaluate the work performance of officers. You will have a unique chance to show case your writing skills by completing neat and legible incident reports.

This is a full-time evening shift position including rotating weekends, located at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital

Preferred Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree, military experience or 2 years of collegiate courses in criminal justice or related field.
• Supervisory experience.
• Driver’s License strongly preferred.
• NYCFD Certificate of fitness as Fire Safety Director.

Required Criteria

• High School Diploma or GED
• NYS Security License.
• 3 years of experience.
• Special Patrolman status.
• 8 & 16 Hour Security Course
• Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 90 days of starting in role and continue BCLS certification required every 2 years.

• Basic training skills.
