Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is seeking a dedicated Security Officer for the Day shift. You will help maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff at NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, NYS security license, 8- and 16-hour security training, and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 90 days, with renewal every two years. Weekend and holiday coverage is included.

In this role, the Security Officer will provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors and employees. The Security Officer will perform all duties assigned consistent with New York Methodist Hospital's commitment to providing quality health care services in a compassionate and humane manner.

This is a Part-Time day shift position 7:00am-3:00pm, including all weekends/holidays and some weekdays, located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Preferred Criteria

• One year security experience within a hospital or related medical setting.
• Valid driver's license.

Required Criteria

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 8 & 16 Hour Security Courses NYS Security License Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 90 days of starting in role and continued BCLS certification required every two years.
• Must be able to write and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and visitors Writing legibility and clearly Basic computer literacy.

Salary Range: $23.42-$24.05/Hourly

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
