Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Criminology, Sociology, Psychology, or related field.
• Completion of Law Enforcement Skills Field Training Program at an accredited facility, or equivalent, as mandated by POST.
• Three or more years' sworn law enforcement experience required.
• Minnesota peace officer license required; valid driver’s license on hire.
• Must attend mandated advanced first responder training.
• Preferred: four-year degree in police science or related field.
• Five years' experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all shift activities of personnel.
• Coordinate training and development of subordinates.
• Manage grant funds and reporting for law enforcement programs.
• Recommend purchases and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist patrol duties and act as incident commander when needed.
• Coordinate with agencies and other departments on cases and policies.
• Lead Dive Team or Use of Force training as assigned.
• Respond to SWAT incidents and canine-related tasks as assigned.
