Job summary

Washoe County in Nevada is seeking candidates for a Deputy Sheriff training track. Trainees will follow the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office academy curriculum under supervision, participate in realistic training exercises, and perform related duties as required after completing the program.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, U.S. citizenship, and being at least 21 years old at the time of appointment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or approved equivalency is required at time of application.
• U.S. citizenship is required at time of application.
• Minimum age 21 at or before appointment.
• Minimum age 21 by appointment.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, receives instruction in the approved law enforcement academy curriculum and participates in training exercises simulating deputy sheriff scenarios.
• Performs related work as required after completing training.
