State of South Carolina is seeking a Security Supervisor to oversee shift security personnel, ensure accurate employee evaluations, enforce disciplinary actions, and counsel officers as needed. Responsabilités

• Assists with preparation of employee evaluations, disciplinary actions, and counseling sessions.
• Assists with conducting shift briefings with all officers.
• Remains familiar with all activities during the shift to inform subordinates of changes affecting inmates and operations.
• Conducts routine and non-routine security checks of work areas and living area units.
• Conducts formal and non-formal counts.
• Investigates inmate complaints and counsels inmates as required.
• Monitors inmate movement within the institution.
• Performs essential and marginal duties of subordinates; performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Performs essential and marginal duties of subordinates; performs all other related duties as assigned by thesupervisor.

Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

• A high school diploma and eighteen (18) months experience in correctional, security, military, or police work.
• A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for 1/2 of required experience.
• Must be certified by the SCDC training academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
