Job summary

Dartmouth College’s Geisel School seeks a Web Optimization and Support Analyst to lead SEO and GEO initiatives, and to provide hands-on WordPress support and training for departments across a hybrid Apache/WordPress environment.

You will audit discoverability and performance of roughly 20,000 pages, develop a phased improvement plan, implement page-structure and metadata changes, and report progress to leadership while balancing proactive optimization with reactive ticket work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (marketing, communications, computer science, information science) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in SEO, digital marketing analytics, or web development with meaningful SEO/optimization responsibility.
• Working knowledge of technical SEO fundamentals: site architecture, redirects/canonicalization, structured data/schema, crawlability, and page performance.
• Hands-on experience with SEO/analytics tools: Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Screaming Frog, rank-tracking tools.
• Working knowledge of WordPress administration, including multisite environments and theme/template structure.
• Basic literacy in HTML/CSS; familiarity with PHP and Apache configuration to work safely in a hybrid environment.
• Strong consultative and training skills; ability to translate technical recommendations for non-technical staff.
• Solid project management skills; ability to plan and execute a phased, prioritized program with many stakeholders.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts ongoing SEO audits and optimization work across the Geisel web in a hybrid Apache/WordPress environment.
• Develops and maintains a prioritized roadmap for subsites and programs based on visibility gaps and capacity.
• Provides WordPress support and training to departments lacking dedicated web staff.
