Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer to join the RAM-C team in Roy, UT. You will model high level RAM-C processes, focusing on reliability-centered maintenance and data-driven decision making within a secure on-site lab environment.

The role requires a STEM degree and relevant experience, with DoD clearance and familiarity with SE, MS&A, and agile practices. On-site collaboration across diverse engineering domains is expected.

Qualifications

Northrop Grumman Defense is seeking a Systems Engineer / Principal Systems Engineer to join our RAM-C team in Roy, UT. The selected candidate will join a team modeling high level Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Cost (RAM-C) processes across multiple campuses. This role will focus Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) modeling and strategy selection for a large missile system with opportunity to support other reliability related modeling and analysis efforts. The RCM team focuses on using failure modes to model potential maintenance strategies and select the best strategy for the overall weapon system. An ideal candidate will have experience modeling large systems and experience finding useful data and trends in large data sets. A candidate with maintenance or logistical background will be able to more easily communicate with stakeholders. Experience with Air Force or military maintenance operations is preferred. Position is on site due to classification of data.

Key Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 Years of related experience; 0 Years with Masters.
  • Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree or 1 year of experience with a PhD.
  • Required for both levels: Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs Proficiency with Reliability Engineering tools (ReliaSoft, Windchill, MADe, Opus, or similar) or proficiency with engineering scripting (Python, C++/C#, Matlab, VBA or similar) Demonstrated technical expertise in the areas of modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) or Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Cost (RAM-C) Demonstrated technical expertise with Systems Engineering (SE) (Systems engineering V, systems integration, RvsC analysis, VV&A, or similar) Knowledge of Agile development practices Capable of working with supervised direction, independently determines and develops technical objectives of assignments, and presents work upon completion for high level review.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (STEM)
  • Proficiency with data handling scripting (SQL, Azure, PowerBI or similar)
  • Experience with Agile Release Train (ART) or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira / Confluence)
  • Advanced use of standard Microsoft Office products to include development tools
  • Strong interest to interact with a wide variety of skills across multiple engineering domains. These engineering domains include: Systems Safety, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Integrated Logistics Support, Product Support, Digital Integration, and Sustainment Cost Modeling
  • Experience with pathfinding / blank page development efforts
  • INCOSE certifications
  • Knowledge of MIL-HBK-882E, MIL-STD-3034A, NAVAIR 00-25-403, DoDM 4151.25

Primary Level Salary Range:

$79,300.00 - $118,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range:

$98,400.00 - $147,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
