Job summary

McCormick & Company seeks a on-site Sensory Technician in Geneva, IL to support ongoing and proposed sensory programs. You will prepare testing materials, set up panels, and assist with data collection and reporting for descriptive analysis. Strong Excel and Compusense skills are required, with ability to manage multiple projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required, plus a minimum of 12 college credits OR 1–2 years of lab experience.
• 1–2 years of food industry/food lab or related industry/lab experience is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate across the organization to build constructive working relationships.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Compusense; ability to learn other software as needed.
• Accurate data entry and data management auditing and review.
• Ability to work both independently and in teams, with or without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, schedule, set up and clean up sensory panels.
• Maintain sensory testing space and inventory of supplies.
• Operate Compusense for questionnaire development and discrimination tests.
• Assist with basic report writing and review panelist comments.
• Prepare on-site and off-site training materials.
• Procure, prepare and serve Descriptive Analysis samples.
• Moderate sensory analysis panels in training.
• Maintain internal sensory database and support continuous improvement.
