Job summary

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Sensor System Engineer for the Machine Vision Systems team in North Reading, MA. This cross-disciplinary SME role bridges customers, product strategy, and technical execution, translating real-world needs into actionable sensor solutions for next-generation robotic platforms.

You will engage customers, define product requirements, and shape sensor architectures across mechanical, electrical, and optical domains, enabling cohesive system-level solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer/Systems Engineering or related field.
• Experience translating customer needs into product requirements and designs.
• Experience working across cross-functional teams and organizations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary technical contact for customers; conduct discovery and translate needs into technical specifications.
• Define product requirements and shape sensor roadmap based on feedback and feasibility.
• Contribute to sensor system architecture across mechanical, electrical, and optical domains.
• Benchmark sensing technologies and analyze competitiveness in robotics sensing.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies for customer applications.
• Collaborate across hardware, firmware, optical, mechanical, electrical, test, and manufacturing teams.
