Job summary

MSA, The Safety Company is seeking a Test and Prototype Engineer to join our Cranberry Township R&D team. You will help develop and support life-protecting sensor systems, including XCell sensors, through prototyping, testing, and lab automation.

The role emphasizes cross-disciplinary work across chemistry, electrical engineering, materials science, coding, and design, with opportunities to mentor interns and co-ops as you grow within a global organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting.
• Experience automating test setups or data acquisition using Python, LabVIEW, or MATLAB.
• Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and fabrication methods.
• Experience analyzing experimental data and uncertainty or statistics.

Responsibilities

• Support and accelerate new product development through sensor prototyping and testing.
• Develop world-class sensor laboratory capabilities and manage lab assets.
• Mentor and train university-level co-ops and interns if applicable.
