Job summary

Weave Robotics, Inc. is building a new generation of home robotics and is seeking a Sensing Engineer to own sensors end-to-end. The role covers emitter/detector electronics, analog front ends, and processing/calibration across modalities, embedded in soft or fabric-like structures.

You will help produce reliable sensor data for firmware, software, and autonomy layers. The position demands hands-on experience with mixed-signal design, signal processing, and industrial-grade calibration.

Qualifications

• End-to-end sensor ownership with hardware and signal processing responsibility.
• Experience with mixed-signal front-ends and multi-channel sensor systems.
• Strong grounding in filtering, estimation, and inverse problems.
• Demonstrated experimental discipline with measurement planning and error analysis.
• Exposure to multiple sensing modalities or ability to learn new physics quickly.
• Familiarity with EtherCAT, CAN/CAN FD, SPI and I2C protocols.

Responsibilities

• Own sensors end-to-end: architecture, electronics, sampling, signal processing, calibration, and production test for time-series sensing.
• Design sensing electronics: analog front ends, emitter drive, detector chains, mixed-signal circuits, and multi-channel arrays with tight synchronization.
• Write algorithms: filtering, bias/temperature compensation, drift handling, and estimation layers for trustworthy quantities.
• Characterize sensor behavior: fixtures, experiments, noise, drift, crosstalk, latency, and failure modes.
• Build production calibration: per-unit routines on manufacturing lines and in the field.
• Detect sensor failure: health monitoring with confidence estimates per signal.
• Evaluate future modalities: prototype candidates and provide data-backed recommendations.
