Job summary

Florida Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a Senior Juvenile Probation Officer to manage high-need youth, coordinate referrals, and conduct formal assessments. The role emphasizes collaboration with families, victims, and courts to determine appropriate dispositions and supportive services.

Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, formulating case plans, and providing court testimony as needed. Requires experience with adolescents and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience working directly with adolescents in one or more of the fields: criminal justice, social services, or related areas.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to conduct and document interviews and risk assessments.
• Certification in DJJ direct care training or ability to obtain within 180 days.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate case assignments.

Responsibilities

• Manage cases, referrals, and assessments for youth.
• Conduct home and school visits.
• Participate in court hearings and testify when appropriate.
• Develop case plans and provide service referrals.
• Maintain records in JJIS.
