Google LLC's Immersive XR team seeks an experienced Lead Architect to own end-to-end hardware architecture for next-generation XR devices. You will balance optical design, ISP/DSP pipelines, thermal, and form factor while coordinating with Mechanical, Electrical, Thermal, Silicon, and Perception teams.

You will lead architecture decisions, drive collaboration across product and UX, and define trade-offs to deliver high-performance, power-efficient headsets and smart glasses with integrated AI

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of hardware architecture experience for consumer electronics, incl. 6 years in XR system architecture.
• 8 years building shipped products with imaging/display optics and multi-camera perception.
• 5 years of technical leadership experience.

Mansioni

• Architect end-to-end XR headsets, balancing FOV, resolution, compute, power, and form factor.
• Integrate optical engines and micro-displays to optimize visual quality and efficiency.
• Define IPD adjustment and eye-tracking sensor suites for 6DoF tracking and pass-through.
• Optimize camera placement and sensor pipelines to maximize tracking accuracy and minimize latency.
• Lead cross-functional alignment among Mechanical, Electrical, Thermal, Silicon, Firmware, Perception, Graphics, Product, and UX teams.
