Job summary

Google's Glasses Framework team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and evolution of core platform software for next‑gen smart glasses. You will tackle low‑power, latency‑critical problems across a split‑compute architecture, connecting glasses runtimes with host devices and Android OS frameworks.

You will mentor engineers, define component directions such as microXR split compute, and collaborate with BSP, Silicon, Product, and OEM teams to push technology forward.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in C++.
• 3 years testing, maintaining, or launching software products; 1 year in design/architecture.
• 3 years experience with embedded operating systems.
• Experience with consumer product development and Android Platform/OS/Internals.

Responsibilities

• Architect and vet XR framework designs and implement code.
• Write robust, efficient software for environments from bare‑metal to cloud.
• Communicate decisions via architecture and design documents.
• Mentor engineers on architecture and best practices and debugging complex system interactions.
• Review code and contribute to team efficiency and workflow improvements.
