Job summary

Google is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for Embedded Systems and Firmware in the Android XR space. You will drive core platform software design for next-gen glass tech, working with cross-functional teams across BSP, Silicon, Product, and OEM partners.

This role emphasizes low-power, latency-sensitive engineering on split-compute architectures connecting glasses runtimes with Android OS capabilities. You will mentor junior engineers, shape architecture decisions, and contribute to consumer

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in C++.
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
Experience with consumer product development and Android Platform/OS/Internals.

Responsibilities

Direct the technical design, implementation, and evolution of core platform software layers for Glasses Framework.
Mentor early-career engineers and collaborate with BSP, Silicon, Product, and OEM teams.
Solve low-power, latency-critical engineering problems across a split-compute architecture connecting glasses runtimes with host devices and Android OS frameworks.
