SkyePoint Decisions is seeking a Workflow/Software Engineer to support the DoED’s Federal Student Aid CPSS program in Washington, DC. This remote role develops software and workflow automation to replace manual processes with integrated, traceable workflows, supporting evidence collection, approvals, policy enforcement, and operational reporting.

Required qualifications include a BS in CS or related field and 5–10 years of experience, with senior certification such as CISSP, API experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience for mid-level assignments or equivalent demonstrated capability.
• Senior certification such as CISSP or equivalent.
• Experience developing software, workflow automation, scripts, services, or low-code/no-code automation.
• Working knowledge of APIs, data integration, CI/CD, source control.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current processes and data flows to identify automation opportunities.
• Design and develop workflow applications, services, scripts, forms, and integrations.
• Automate evidence collection, task routing, and approvals where applicable.
• Integrate workflows with APIs, data sources, and security tools.
• Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests and support validation.
• Maintain documentation including roadmaps, ADRs, runbooks, and release notes.
