Zenith Insurance Company is seeking an experienced Senior Trial Attorney to defend workers' compensation claims in California. The role requires handling highly complex cases at the trial level and providing strategic legal guidance to the Claims department.

Qualifications

• JD required and active State Bar membership.
• Minimum 7+ years as Trial Attorney in workers' compensation defense.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Handles highly complex cases under the state administrative process (trial level).
• Defends workers' compensation cases.
• Takes depositions, analyzes testimony, prepares and files related reports.
• Represents the Company in appearances at hearings and conferences; prepares and files related reports.
• Researches and prepares highly complex pleadings for cases under the state administrative process (trial level).
• Provides advice, training, and recommendations on case handling strategies and tactics to representatives of the Claims department.
• Performs legal research at all levels, from advising clients through the appellate procedures.
• Acts as inter-departmental training seminar leader.
• May assist in training Trial Attorney I and II.
• Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
