Job summary

The Hanover is seeking a Senior Workers Compensation Adjuster for the California team in a fully remote role. You will manage moderate to complex, high-value casualty claims with minimal supervision, applying advanced investigative and negotiation skills to resolve disputes and protect our clients.

Responsibilities include guiding subrogation efforts, maintaining precise records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, while coordinating with legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of workers compensation claims handling experience.
• Must possess or obtain state adjuster licenses and CE credits.
• Strong negotiation and decision-making on high-exposure cases.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage moderate to complex, high-value casualty claims with minimal supervision.
• Lead investigations, assess coverage, and issue reservations of rights and coverage letters.
• Escalate issues as needed and coordinate with legal counsel and specialists.
• Identify subrogation opportunities and pursue favorable outcomes through negotiation and litigation management.
• Maintain thorough records, ensure regulatory compliance, and prepare reports.
• Set reserves, authorize payments within authority, and support reserving accuracy.
• Mentor junior claim handlers and contribute to training and best practices.
