Job summary

W. R. Berkley in Minnesota seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist to manage a caseload of complex claims, including extended disability, litigation, and subrogation.

You will handle all technical aspects of claim management, ensure compliance with performance guidelines, and work closely with clients and health care professionals. The role requires strong communication, math and analytical skills, and the ability to move claims through to return-to-work.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of workers' compensation rules/laws.
• Able to interface with clients, legal counsel, healthcare professionals.
• Travel: Occasional travel.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Windows and basic PC tasks.

Responsibilities

• Investigate claims and determine compensability and management strategy for assigned files.
• Document claim handling activities and create action plans.
• Establish reserves and manage medical treatment and disability to support return-to-work.
• Address customer inquiries and participate in client claim reviews.
• May perform other functions as assigned.
