Job summary

CorVel is seeking a Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist for a remote position. You will handle complex WC claims, coordinate with case managers and attorneys, and manage subrogation and settlements to optimize outcomes.

The role requires licensure or experience in CT, MA, NH, RI, with ME and VT licenses preferred. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and at least 3 years of industry experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to investigate and analyze claims to determine validity and compensability.
• Experience with workers’ compensation claims and subrogation.
• Familiarity with reserving, settlements, and cost containment strategies.
• Proficiency in MS Office and data documentation.

Responsibilities

• Receive WC claims, verify coverage, and acknowledge the claim.
• Investigate, gather information, and file documents with state agencies.
• Establish reserves and authorize payments within authority limits.
• Develop action plans with case managers to reduce claim costs.
• Coordinate early return-to-work efforts with parties involved.
• Manage subrogation and litigation as applicable.
• Report claims to excess carriers when required.
• Communicate status to customers and claimants.
• Follow client and carrier guidelines and participate in reviews.
