Job summary

Old Republic Bitco Corporation in Pasadena, CA, seeks a Sr. Claims Specialist for Workers’ Compensation to manage the full life cycle of CA WC claims. Role includes investigation, reserving, evaluation, and resolution with a focus on timely service to partners and claimants.

The position offers a hybrid/remote arrangement with potential travel to other OR Bitco offices and an emphasis on regulatory compliance and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in claims investigation, administration, and litigation management.
• Knowledge of coverage, reserving principles, investigation and negotiation techniques.
• CA Workers’ Compensation certification preferred; ability to obtain/maintain state licenses.
• Must be service-oriented with strong claims and customer service skills.
• Willingness to travel, potentially overnight.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate claim reserves to reflect exposure.
• Investigate claims, meeting with insureds and witnesses and obtaining statements and records.
• Provide documentation and reporting of investigation and claims handling activities.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and counsel; provide appropriate settlement documents.
• Manage regulatory and jurisdictional requirements.
• Direct defense counsel and other third parties involved in claims.
