Job summary

Justworks is seeking a Senior Claims Manager of Workers Compensation in Tampa to lead a small team and handle a caseload of complex WC claims. You will ensure accurate coverage decisions, reserves, and settlements while guiding cross-functional collaboration with Success, Technology, Legal, Finance and more.

You will oversee training, maintain up-to-date WC knowledge across states, and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a Third Party Claims Administration(TPA) or PEO claims.
• Mentoring, training, or leading peers or junior claims associates.
• Working knowledge of WC regulations across multiple states.
• Solid reserving skills and understanding indemnity, medical and expense components.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; able to interact with PEO customers and partners.
• Proficiency with claims management systems and RMIS platforms.
• Experience supporting Return to Work programs.
• Experience working cross-functionally.
• Experience with vendor management.
• Extremely detailed-oriented with strong time management.
• Proactive and curious with a bias for action.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a small claims team with daily direction and coaching.
• Manage a personal caseload of complex or high-exposure WC claims.
• Review coverage decisions, reserves and settlement recommendations.
• Serve as escalation point for difficult claims and disputes.
• Conduct file audits and quality reviews; provide feedback.
• Coordinate with TPAs, carriers, defense counsel, medical providers and nurses.
• Onboard and train new claims staff for PEO workflows and compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of WC statutes across jurisdictions.
• Assist with reporting, loss trend analysis and process improvements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
