Job summary

Crawford & Company is seeking a Senior Claims Examiner - Workers Compensation to handle complex WC claims with autonomy. You will investigate, evaluate and resolve large-loss cases, determine compensability, and negotiate settlements while coordinating with defense counsel.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 4–8 years of WC claims experience, and a WC adjuster license. Expect training responsibilities and mentorship to grow team capabilities within Crawford.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; designations welcome.
• 4–8 years of technical claims investigations/settling experience.
• Ability to work independently while handling technical subjects.
• Strong written and oral communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities with multi-project prioritization.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external clients.
• WC Adjuster license required per jurisdiction

Responsibilities

• Interpret complex coverages and determine applicability of claims.
• Direct investigative activity on complex claims; guide litigation strategy with counsel.
• Analyze claims activity and prepare reports for clients and management.
• Establish reserves and authorize payments within authority; timely disbursements.
• Settle claims promptly and issue company drafts within limits.
• Develop subrogation opportunities and follow reclamation procedures.
• Analyze claims activities and participate in claim reviews.
