Senior Workday Systems Analyst at the University of Pennsylvania. The role plays a key part in shaping Workday reporting and analytics strategy, designing, building, and maintaining custom reports while ensuring data integrity and security.
Responsibilities
- Partner with clients and business owners to identify opportunities for business process improvement through Workday functionality.
- Analyze, design, and build new custom reports using standard Workday reporting functionality (Report Writer, Calculated Fields).
- Develop and maintain custom reports, document report functionality and design.
- Lead the effort around Workday reporting.
- Develop and implement system enhancements based on advice from business owners and educated recommendations.
- Translate user requirements into system configurations, business processes, and reporting.
- Partner with business owners to roll out new functionality and modules to promote business transformation.
- Test changes and conduct regression testing on Workday releases deployed to production.
- Participate in report reviews, ensuring security and data privacy standards.
- Oversee Workday configuration, efficiency, and effectiveness, contributing to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science and 3‑5 years of experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Ability to create consolidated reports combining data from multiple sources.
- Experience with HR technologies, systems, and reporting.
- Hands‑on expertise in at least one additional Workday module (e.g., HCM Core, Recruiting, Talent Management).
- Strong understanding of Workday architecture, security, and integration frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills, strong attention to detail, highly organized.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience configuring business processes, calculated fields, reporting, reviewing, and documenting processes is desirable.
- Knowledge of and experience applying employment‑related laws and regulations to systems is desired.
- Experience working in a virtual or matrix reporting structure is desirable.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi‑task to produce accurate, professional, error‑free results on a timely basis.
