Job summary

Wawa, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Workday, to design, develop, and support core business applications with a focus on the Workday platform and integrations to internal and third-party systems.

You will work on Workday Extend, ensure security and PCI compliance, and lead cross-team projects while delivering scalable solutions in a Windows/Linux environment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a technical discipline preferred.
• 5 to 7 years of related work experience.
• Fluent in Workday Integrations.
• Working knowledge of Workday Extend.
• Ability to achieve certifications in multiple appropriate strategic technologies.
• Minimum of three years’ experience operating and managing in a large-scale Windows/Linux environment.
• Working knowledge of multiple development technologies and frameworks (NET, VB, C#, Java, JavaScript, React.js, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, NoSQL, and Graph Databases).
• Fluent in multiple toolsets and platforms (Blue Yonder/JDA, SharePoint, Visual Studio, SSRS, SSIS, Nintex).
• Proficiency in command-line batch and program development in Windows, Linux and/or UNIX platforms (PowerShell, C-Shell, Bash shell, Perl, etc.) and related programming languages (.NET frameworks, Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.).
• General knowledge around endpoint protocols and security components (SFTP/FTP, File, OAuth2, SSL, SSH, LDAP, etc.).
• Knowledge of Security Technologies and standards (PCI).
• Knowledge of standard support frameworks (ITIL).

Responsibilities

• Translate functional requirements into technical design and ensure alignment with design principles and timelines.
• Ensure adherence to security standards and PCI compliance.
• Develop software using established Wawa standards with emphasis on correctness and maintainability.
• Develop and execute technical test scripts and perform integrated testing.
• Support application implementation by packaging releases and creating documentation.
• Prepare and install vendor solutions with test smoke checks and timelines.
• Monitor support queue and drive remediation to reduce manual interventions.
• Maintain up-to-date technical support documentation and processes.
• Follow IT Service Management processes (change, problem, incident).
• Grow technical knowledge through ongoing learning and adoption of new technologies.
• Research, test, and implement new technologies to increase velocity and stability.
