Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte LLP, a leading U.S. law firm, seeks a Senior Payroll Systems Analyst in Chicago to own Workday payroll configuration and related automation initiatives.

You’ll partner with HR and Accounting to implement scalable payroll solutions and ensure accuracy across tax and GL mappings. The role requires at least five years of payroll systems experience with Workday, a strong focus on internal controls, and the ability to translate business needs into technical deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, IS, HR, or related field.
• At least five (5) years of payroll systems experience with Workday configuration.
• Experience in a law firm is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end configuration and maintenance of the Workday Payroll module, including earnings and deduction setup, tax configuration, and related processes.
• Document payroll system configuration, business rules, and change-control procedures.
• Lead end-to-end testing and validation of payroll changes and Workday releases to ensure accuracy and compliance.
